Mr. Biceps

Back in olden times, when many, many people smoked cigarettes, especially in Britain, trading cards for collectors were included in the packs . There were hundreds of different series, covering the most eclectic subjects possible, each one containing scores of unique images. If you were an ardent collector, you had three ways of expanding your collection: 1) trade with other collectors; 2) ask other non-collecting smokers to give you theirs; and 3) smoke a hell of a lot of fags (unfiltered most likely) and hope that each pack you bought held a new card. The first and second choices were the sanest and probably the most likely for most smokers. It wouldn’t surprise me however, that choice number three might be right up there near the top.

That’s what concerns me. This particular series was about exercising to stay in good health, with many examples of what you, the smoker, could do to be a fit citizen. If you collected and used the advice of this unique collection you should end up a handsome, fit specimen like the gentleman above, albeit a specimen who was closer to blowing away his lungs than winning the Mr. England crown.

I love the irony that the human race is so adept at sporting. It almost seems intentional. CLIQUEZ VOUS ICI.

Many of you have wondered what happened to the shill for my NFTs that usually appears in this space. Well, I’m changing platforms and haven’t quite got there yet, so I’m in a bit of a limbo. So, for the time being, I think I’ll just fill it with samples from my on-going efforts at scanning my slide archives.
