Don’t get me wrong, I’m just assuming that this darling couple is someone’s parental unit, though they may well not be. If we knew they were a mommy and daddy for sure I know that someone might consider some kind of intervention on behalf of the kids, although I myself would tend not to. Indeed, I would make a case for the preservation and encouragement of this couple.

How would I do this? Well, I would propagate this wonderful photographic example of eccentricity far and wide, drawing attention to its several fascinating details. Most of us would probably feel intense pangs of envy that the Gorphs have a bright orange easy chair and we don’t. Tell the truth. What’s more they’re obviously very proud of it. You’ll notice, by the way, that the chair itself is decorated with a beautiful blue throw. The matching of these two things is like the pairing of a fine cabernet with the right cheese.

And how about those sculptures on the end table? I’ve blown up this part of the photo hoping to discover just what the heck they are; perhaps they would give me an insight into the private lives of these two. But, alas, there is no telling; I just couldn't identify them. Certainly, given everything else about the Gorphs, it has to be of profound significance.

And then there’s the floor lamp on the right. They probably bought it new and my guess is that it eventually ended up in a thrift store where it was scooped up by a lucky treasure hunter or maybe even Quentin Tarantino.

I’ve saved the obvious and best for last: their formidably eccentric fashion statement. Right away we get the fact that this is a couple who doesn’t care what we think and instead are quite ready to flaunt their wonderful sense of style, comments and innuendos be damned. How is their dress (I hesitate to call it a “costume”) to be explained? Your guess is as good as mine but unless they are sporting a uniform of some organization I’m not aware of, it is one of a kind.

Everything about this couple is conjecture, of course, but that won’t stop us from oggling in envy will it?
